Play Therapy
At Hazans Play Therapy,
I believe that every child deserves a safe and nurturing space to express themselves, heal, and grow. My approach is rooted in the power of play—children’s natural language—to help them navigate emotional challenges, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills.
With over 11 years of experience as a Play Therapist and extensive training in trauma-focused interventions, I offer a compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive approach. One of the unique aspects of Hazans Play Therapy is the ability to provide simultaneous translation for non-English-speaking children and families, ensuring that language is never a barrier.
I specialize in working with children and young people facing emotional difficulties, behavioural concerns, trauma, anxiety, grief, ASD, ADHD and adjustment challenges including those from refugee and immigrant backgrounds. My therapy sessions are tailored to each child’s individual needs, utilizing creative techniques such as sand play, storytelling, expressive arts, and EMDR when appropriate.
My mission is to create a safe and inclusive space where children feel seen, heard, and empowered. I collaborate closely with families to provide guidance and support, helping to strengthen parent-child relationships and enhance overall well-being.
At Hazans Play Therapy, I am committed to making therapy a warm, welcoming, and transformative experience. Because when a child feels safe enough to play, they feel safe enough to heal.

Who is Play Therapy For?
Play therapy is primarily designed for children aged 3 to 12. It is particularly effective for children experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, aggression, or difficulties with social skills and self-esteem. Play therapy is also highly beneficial for children who have experienced trauma, loss, family separation, or stressful life transitions. Additionally, it supports neurodivergent children, including those with autism or ADHD, by providing a safe and structured environment for self-expression and emotional regulation. However, each child and their needs are unique. The best way to determine whether Play Therapy is a suitable intervention for a child is through a discussion with a Play Therapist.
What Makes Hazans Play Therapy Unique?
✔ Simultaneous Translation – I provide therapy with simultaneous translation programme, ensuring that non-English-speaking children and families feel fully understood.
✔ Culturally Sensitive Approach – Specializing in working with refugee and immigrant families, helping children adjust and thrive in new environments.
✔ Only Evidence-Based Techniques – Utilizing CCPT (Child Centred Play Therapy) intervention, sand tray therapy, expressive arts and EMDR.
Intake Session with Your Own Language (If needed)
During intake sessions with clients who do not speak English, they read the questions from my pre-prepared intake form in their own language and respond in their native language. The simultaneous translation program I use then translates their responses into English, allowing me to understand their needs and determine how I can assist the child and family—without requiring an additional interpreter and while maintaining confidentiality.
Languages Available for Intake Sessions
Based on my research, Adelaide is a highly multicultural city so any language is welcome! If you do not speak English, no worries! Please feel free to reach out via email.
*This service is only for refugees and new immigrants who do not yet speak English.
